Meet Thomas and Julien de Bie, the talented artist and brother duo who go by the name of Parallelle. Hailing from the picturesque South of France but currently based in vibrant Amsterdam, these multi-talented individuals are DJs, producers, composers, and field recorders all in one.
Parallelle's music offers a captivating and powerful experience, where groovy rhythms, dynamic instrumentals, soulful voices, and electronic waves blend seamlessly. Their signature take on electronic club music is truly one of a kind, characterized by heavy basslines and uplifting vocals, all supported by the magic of live recorded instruments.
In the past year alone, they have taken their music to more than 70 gigs in over 22 countries, gracing the stages of renowned festivals like Burning Man, DGTL, Wildeburg, and SXM Festival, as well as prestigious clubs such as Fabric London, Pacha Ibiza, and KaterBlau Berlin. Sharing the limelight with respected artists, their performances have left audiences in awe.
Beyond their musical prowess, Parallelle is deeply fascinated by the diversity of sounds and music styles from around the world. This passion led to their ambitious 'A DAY IN' project, a three-year journey across the globe, recording sounds and videos from various locations, alongside encounters with local musicians and their mesmerizing instruments. The outcome of this immersive experience is 11 tracks and videos, five of which were created in collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy Hotels. Through this project, they aim to shine a spotlight on diverse cultures, communities, ethnicities, instruments, and rhythms, while also promoting contemplation, curiosity, local engagement, and the art of listening.
