DJ SWISHA

The New York-based artist DJ SWISHA will make his first ever Japan tour, and stop by MIDNIGHT EAST on 22 June, Saturday.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in LA, DJ SWISHA is a member of Juke Bounce Werk crew and a signee of A-Trak’s label Fool's Gold Records. His sound covers everything from footwork, juke, Baltimore/Jersey club to techno, and he has been releasing music consistently since 2014. In addition to his solo work, he has also collaborated with AceMo and his fellow producer Kush Jones, who also belongs to Juke Bounce Werk. Resident Advisor named last May’s self-released title “CLUB MEGAMIXXX” as their favourite track of 2023 and described is as “culmination of everything that DJ SWISHA and his New York cohort have been working towards for the past six years”, and “the sound of a producer who moves dance music forward by taking pieces of its past and rebuilding them in his own image.”

DJ SWISHA will be joined by SAMO from the Osaka-born dance music collective FULLHOUSE and a TYO GQOM member HW BINGO going back-to-back. In addition, kengotaki, also a member of FULLHOUSE, and the Creatures Records boss DJ DISK will also play back-to-back in the main room.

In Azumaya, Shibuya-based house DJ Lui, YUVIE who newly joined FULLHOUSE in 2024, back-to-back set from Light Crime core members iz and KATAINAKA, and HIMAWARI, the owner of select shop CANNABIS and the organiser of techno party HALOGEN, are lined up.

The artworks are designed by visual artist ONI, a member of Nagoya hip-hop crew D.R.C.
