Evan Baggs

Berlin-based DJ/producer Evan Baggs is playing at MIDNIGHT EAST on 23th May.

Having relocated from his hometown New York to Berlin in 2007, Evan Baggs was one of the first DJs to start mixing minimal house with spacey techno, UK garage and electro in the late 2010s. A record digger and selector with an exceptional taste and skill, he’s mainly played in clubs such as Club Der Visionaere or Hoppetosse, establishing a sound beyond minimal house with the likes of dj masda, Francesco Del Garda, Binh etc. As a producer, he has released records on Cabaret Recordings, Timeless and Time Passages, the labels run by those fellow artists, as well as Art Of Dark and Faith Beat. At O-EAST 3F, he will be joined by Wada Yosuke, the founder of Tokyo-based label/party COWBOY FAMILY.

Meanwhile in Azumaya, Taro, who organises the long-running party CHAOS with Fumiya Tanaka, and TIMO, a DJ with a career in the Tokyo club scene for over 20 years and now plays regularly at WOMB and MITSUKI, are performing a B2B set. Also Sakuma, the organiser of techno party Modest, Kanazawa-based party Mo' House member discopants, and Ready or Not co-organiser Connor will be on the decks, and Tokyo-based singer Kaoruko, known for her work with Stones Taro, is performing live.
