Theo Parrish in Tokyo -All Night Long-

On Saturday 6 September, the one and only Theo Parrish, who has an enduring presence in the musical map, will play an all-night-long set at MIDNIGHT EAST (Spotify O-EAST & AZUMAYA) in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Born in Washington DC and spending his childhood in Chicago, Theo Parrish started DJing in the mid-80s. He’s recognised as one of house music's heroes, and icons in dance music.
After moving to Detroit in 1994, he worked as a solo artist as well as the legendary supergroup 3 Chairs with Moodymann, Rick Wilhite and Marcellus Pittman (they played their last gig during Movement Detroit in May this year).
His long sets of musical explorations beyond the boundaries of dance music and an incomparable sense continue to attract crowds from all over the world, bringing an extraordinary musical experience.
Theo has been introducing fantastic records that encompass the past, present and future of black music through his Sound Signature label, and he doesn’t stop making records to this day, while playing clubs and festivals around the world. He is also a resident DJ at the beloved New York club Nowadays.

In O-EAST’s main floor, where Theo weaves his black music journey over the course of a night, the visual design team REALROCKDESIGN, who will celebrate its 30th birthday next year, and the internationally acclaimed DOMMUNE mastermind and artist of “right now,” Naohiro Ukawa will team up to for special visual production using Generative AI. Also MIURA, who has been shining light to many scenes in Japan’s dance music, will be in charge of the lighting.
The installation of sound, visuals and light, will colour the midnight of the city.
